Young boy in Chompipal praying to receive Christ

From Pastor Bob this morning

Yesterday I got to see a young man in a remote village practicing guitar; helped replace a woman's roof with new corrugated tin. I saw 18 hands working simultaneously in concert to accomplish one mission of feeding all the families of a village; drove our van through one lane of a flooded road with rushing water (successfully I might add); was blessed by countless smiling faces of young and old(er) rural Guatemalans who live on a volcano. Yet nothing compares to seeing 8 people invite Jesus to be their Savior! What a glorious day!

Headed back to village @ base of Pacaya to put roofs on houses. Yesterday town was crazy. Cody is staying @ the mission today. They had another flood and more road damage in Guatemala City yesterday. Missing all of my girls.
Powerful day at Pacaya. The people in that village endured 45 minutes of fire raining through their roofs. Surprisingly, there was only one fatality after that volcano eruption: a local newscaster was covering the story and was struck by falling lava rock. Returning to the village tomorrow to pass out food and repair roofs.
Erupting volcanos can take a beautiful green mountainous land & turn it black ash/rock. But the volcano did not change the hearts or smiles of the beautiful, hungry and some homeless people of Pacaya.
Thank you for your prayers! Yesterday was crazy to say the least, as Pacayans gathered, Carlos preached, people gave their hearts to the Lord and then we passed out food & hugs. Then we helped build roofs as people continue to shovel ash/rock out of their one room/corrugated homes. Then we got stuck on the side of the road by the rain falls on the way home late at night. Thought we would sleep in the van, but eventually safely drove through a river & made it home very late. What a day! What a great God we serve!
It took us 45 minutes to drive 2.5 miles up cratered volcanic soil. Total driving today, 6 hours to bring 250 families food. Tomorrow back to Pacaya volcano to pass out food & build 4 families new roofs. So many in need.

Got to talk to the boys last night, they sound great. Cody said he got a little bored bagging rice, but then switched jobs and all was well. They worshipped with 12,000 people! Amazing.
